DIKMEN VALLEY HOUSING
Situated at the southern outskirts of the Turkish capital, Dikmen Valley is a region under transformation from informal settlements to suburbs where many upper-class housing projects are under development. The project site is 26,000 m2 and is situated on the south part of the valley. The programmatic requirements are met by a tower and a branching base consisting of residential units and public areas. The challenge of the design phase was to create density but at the same time offer privacy and spatiality. Utilising the sloping section of the land, houses are laid in two levels, descending towards north. Topography of the land is further integrated into the design by opening courtyards which are visually and spatially are continuation of the valley.
